East Coast Surf Camps

Safety:

The first and most important thing to look for when looking for a surf camp is safety. Student age, group size, and instructor competence are all factors that must be considered. NC Surf Adventures takes pride in our small class sizes that focus on the instructor-to-student ratio. For students ages 4-6 we require one-on-one instruction, ages 7-12 we have a 2:1 instructor-to-student ratio and ages 13+, we ideally provide 3:1 (sometimes 4:1 depending on conditions). Additionally, all of our instructors are also experienced surfers who understand how to read the ocean and it’s many moods.

Location:

While surfing can be found all over the world, it is very rare to find such a beginner’s haven like we have here in Wrightsville Beach.. South Eastern North Carolina and the islands surrounding it are excellent places to learn due to the small-to-medium sized waves, sandy bottoms, public lifeguards, warm weather, and clear waters. This provides us the perfect environment for students to grow their skills while still feeling comfortable, no matter where they are in their surfing journey.

Fun:

Anyone who surfs knows that one of the best parts is the community that you build along the way. Our team loves everything about the ocean, and we want to share that spark. Along with surfing, our camps offer time to learn about our oceans, play beach games, and build friendships with other like-minded students. A supportive atmosphere does wonders to the growth of a beginner surfer.

Goals:

Lastly, a good surf camp sets clear, achievable goals for its students. Goal setting shows students what to expect, and sets them up for a lifetime of success in the surfing world. We work with each student to find and achieve their goals, whether it’s to learn to surf on their own, navigating their way into a lineup, or mastering specific techniques and tricks.
